Go Darke

Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it

Philosophy, Stoicism

Philosopher suicide

Jacques-Louis David (30 August 1748 – 29 December 1825) was a French painter in the Neoclasscal style who painted two paintings. (well more than two, but two for the sake of this comparison) One was called The Death of Socrates, who died by drinking a hemlock cocktail… and the other of The Death of Seneca… who slit his veins… drank two hemlock cocktails and finally asphyxiated himself in a steam bath.

Death of Socrates

Death of Seneca

Socrates was condemned to death by the City of Athens. Seneca by his former pupil, the Emperor Nero.

Overall I prefer the Death of Socrates.
