Mindfulness benchmark

I struggle with mindfulness. The most accurate graphical representation of this is likely Matt Groening’s seminal character. Although to be honest, I feel I have a less jaundiced look about me. (but likely the same amount of hair) Also seminal in so far as it denotes groundbreaking, as opposed to semen. This is not that kinda blog… eh… anymore.

One day… (hopefully in the distant future) when they’ve harvested all my usable organs I would like my monkey mind hosed off and placed on the mantelpiece. My ashes (if possible) should be placed in a rocket (preferably one capable of escaping the atmosphere) and shot off into space. Although… now that I think about it… circling the earth for all eternity as a navigation hazard also appeals to me. I need to dwell on this.

I have however recently reached a mindfulness milestone. While not an ‘official’ step on any published journey to zen-hood (as ordained by the mindfulness council or authority) I feel it is still a significant point on this particular sojourn and therefore worth mentioning.

IMG_0204.jpg I listened to a whole twenty song playlist today. Without skipping a single one.

I know right? Preeeettty impressive. Writing it down in my diary.
