Go Darke

Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it

My week in photos

06.2020

A handful of caterpillars (Citrus Swallowtail) I picked off my one of my lemon trees (and then murdered)
This cool looking toad outside my kitchen who almost became a midnight snack for the German Shepherd.
The Kapok tree in my back garden is flowering
Scoring our harvested Chestnuts so they don’t explode in the oven.
Probably going to lose that fingernail Joey. Smashed my finger moving an antique safe.

Catapultar mash is great for sandwich spread.

There is a local delicacy called mopane worms, they’re not bad grilled. These caterpillars smell a little funky though, they have this sensory horn that pops out and sprays this… odd defensive spray… I guess it smells vaguely of citrus. But I could smell it for at least a day afterwards.

I was only kidding. Jesus man, that sounds disgusting

Lol. I’ve been deep into China and eaten some pretty… eh… odd things. Gastronomically I am likely to put anything into my mouth at least once. But I can totally appreciate why the worlds pandemics come from the Chinese wet markets.

There’s a whole theory now re Pangolins being the origin of the current coronavirus..
Also, great photo juxtaposition… Nature, nature, bloody finger.

I would feel super bad eating a Pangolin. Although maybe not if they were as ubiquitous as cows… for whom I feel zero guilt in consuming (in bulk).

I am all about juxtaposition. (I’m glad I could just copy your spelling… would likely have struggled otherwise)

        Chinese people! Always causing problems!!

        😀

Rest in peace, caterpillars and Jo’s fingernail.

Are you alive? How you doing?

Let’s just say January wasn’t kind to me. At all.
I’m gradually starting to catch up on everything after ignoring emails, Facebook, Twitter and just about everything else for a month.

        How are you doing, Jo?

I’m glad you’re back. I missed you. There has been this huge Michelle shaped hole in my life. Every time I eat havarti or herring I get all choked up thinking about you. And also Artemis. Hopefully he also well?

I’m good. Fighting the good fight. Or… at least I think I am. I get confused so easily these days. Probably because I’m so old now…

Aw, it’s so good to know people (people who don’t need me to do something for them that is) missed me. But please don’t choke on herring. That sounds like an awful way to die.

Artemis is well. He tried to attack a friend who crashed on my couch this weekend, got his beak stuck around one of the bars of his cage, and then just slid back and forth along the bar until I managed to get him unstuck.
He is not a smart bird.

We’re only as old as we feel! You know I’m mentally 65. I even got a cane to help me chase kids off my lawn. We all gotta keep on fighting!

I was going to say: you better have eaten those caterpillars… but then having read the conversation between you and jim decided perhaps it’s best you didn’t…
(PS: see? I like YOUR photo posts too!!)

I suppose it’s basically like the worm in the tequila bottle… and we’ve all swallowed one of those… right? Right?
